Mercedes-Benz of Walnut Creek is a Sonic Automotive dealership, with local territory reaching the greater San Francisco Bay Area. Our continuing goal has been to help promote the Mercedes-Benz brand across all territories, increasing brand awareness and sales via online channels. Throughout our relationship with Mercedes-Benz, we have also helped create numerous event branding items such as posters, banners and even brochures for print.

Campaign Premise

Creating local area-of-influence awareness for the Mercedes-Benz brand.

Mercedes-Benz of Walnut Creek tasked Single Origin with several aspects of their digital marketing. Acting as their internal marketing arm, our goal was to create local area-of-influence awareness through an omni-channel approach, improving return on ad spend and selling more vehicles off their lot. Additionally, by promoting the dealership to local ZIP codes, we were leveraged to improve in-person turnout for branded events. Lastly, as a high-paced local business focused on moving vehicles, we provided additional resources through our graphic design team. Our team paid special attention to the Mercedes-Benz global brand, adhering to strict MBUSA guidelines and visual language.

Our Approach

By directly consulting with the Mercedes-Benz of Walnut Creek Marketing Director, we were able to determine local area-of-influence and target high-worth individuals with current dealership promotions such as flash sales, ongoing service appointments, and event announcements. Our team of expert graphic designers created dozens of sets of unique ad creative from scratch, ensuring an impeccable level of brand compliance and continuity with the Mercedes-Benz brand. To keep banner fatigue to a minimum, we refreshed ads on a regular basis, keeping track of vehicles on the lot and coordinating with the dealership sales team to remove sold inventory as quickly as possible. In addition to a generic branded dealership campaign, we also ran dynamic vehicle-specific advertisements to showcase inventory in almost real-time.

Campaigns provided a noticeable lift in used vehicle sales.

With over 52 million ad impressions delivered, Single Origin was able to drive local awareness throughout the appropriate areas-of-influence for Mercedes-Benz of Walnut Creek. In total, we created over 400 unique banner advertisements which adhered to strict Mercedes-Benz brand compliance standards, as well as other unique items such as booth and event creative. We also worked closely with the Marketing Director to create a sub-brand of the dealership called “Elite” by Mercedes-Benz of Walnut Creek, including vehicle decals, branded plate frames, and dealership posters.
